Canada Litter is made from bentonite (mineral clay), known for its exceptional absorption and low permeability. The primary mineral component of this litter is montmorillonite (a clay mineral, a layered silicate belonging to the silicate class, containing sodium, magnesium, and iron; a constituent of bentonite and an absorbent). While bentonite can be found worldwide, layers of exceptionally high-quality mineral clay are very rare.
